NatureTech: how new technologies can support the transition to Nature Positive

This webinar showcased a range of different biodiversity-related innovations that can benefit UK businesses, ranging from game-changing on-site monitoring tools to innovative nature-positive carbon offsetting solutions that deliver for nature, climate and local communities. Technology and innovation are core enablers when it comes to mainstreaming biodiversity into business decision-making. Today we face new challenges in the scales at which species and ecosystems need to be measured, managed and accounted for, and many businesses face the prospect of meeting biodiversity-linked goals for the first time. This webinar featured short talks and case studies from both start-ups bringing new solutions to market and businesses who have been early adopters and can share their experiences. The webinar is relevant to all at any stage on the nature positive journey from ecologists to sustainability leads to CEOs. Agenda and speakers included: - Adam Filby, Dendra – drones and AI to map biodiversity and regenerate landscapes - Warwick Mostert, Anglo American – environmental DNA programme for monitoring and managing biodiversity at mine sites - RS Aqua – Acoustic monitoring in marine environments - Landscape Project – natural capital lab in Scotland looking at bringing together diff tools to account for nature - Oliver Bolton, Earthly – Nature-based Solutions to climate change, with an immersive 3D platform that brings your impact to life - Walid Al Saqqaf, Rebalance Earth – using blockchain to create new flows of wealth linked to ecosystem services provided by keystone species - Q&As Chaired by Mark Johnston, Chair of UKBBF
