This webinar provided an analysis of the new IEMA briefing paper: The Value of Environmental Auditing: – an IEMA Senior Management Briefing with expert speakers giving an introduction to the key themes from the briefing, including the benefits from effective audit programmes and the importance of both internal and external auditing. Environmental auditing is a key tool for improving business performance. A high-quality environmental audit programme provides assurance to senior leaders and stakeholders and forms the basis for robust decision-making. The webinar included case studies from a large private sector organisation and from a regulator’s perspective. The webinar also emphasised the need for senior management support for environmental auditing programmes, in the form of resourcing and explicit recognition of their value, to help drive their effectiveness. The webinar will be useful for all of those involved in managing and delivering audits.
